FALL 2024

Things are A-Changing: From the Vice President
Change is in the air, and I’m not just talking about the fall leaves under some of our trees! You may have noticed that we have been making some changes as well in the past few months. The year started with a changing of the guard, as our beloved, long-time President Linda Bruns took a well-deserved break and handed the reins over to her Vice President Beth White. Since January, Triple R has been in amazing hands under Beth’s leadership, and Linda has been enjoying her tenure as President Emeritus! These are not the only changes we have been making. One of the biggest changes is this, right here, we are bringing back our newsletter after 10 years. Before our Spring 2024 newsletter, the last Triple R newsletter was sent out in August 2014! If you have been around since then, first of all, thank you for your ongoing support over the past decade! Second, we have so much to catch you up on, and we’re excited to get started! We have also been hard at work over on social media, where we’re trying to give you more of what you want! Our horses!

Do you have a hurricane plan in place for your equines?
Fall is finally here, and with the new season comes all the beloved classics- football, a new school year, and a deluge of pumpkin-spice flavored products. But for Tallahassee, the transition to fall is also a transition into the most active part of hurricane season. It remains to be seen whether this fall will bring a late-game hurricane to Tallahassee, but it doesn’t hurt to have a plan in place for your horses just in case. Read on for our favorite equine-related hurricane planning tips
FEATURED HORSE
Don’t let this spooky image fool you– Spirit is as sweet (and silly) as they come! This handsome guy came to Triple R, after his owners passed away. His previous owners loved him very much, and it appeared that he was used to being doted on by his humans as their only horse. However, he has adjusted very well to herd life, and has loved meeting new horses through Triple R. These days his best bud is his foster family’s personal horse Thunder—with his foster human coming in a close second! Spirit’s favorite things include baths on hot days, cookies, and ear scratches.
