Happy Spring!

QUARTER(LY) HORSE REPORT

Happy spring, everyone! This is my first message as President, so it’s fitting that this is our Spring NEWsletter. Spring always reminds me of "new"-- like the beautiful flowers and grass coming out and putting away those heavy winter coats and enjoying the outdoors... and did I mention the horses' new shiny coats! I hope all of you are having an enjoyable spring and all it has to offer-- including, we can’t forget, this fantastic weather! I just wish it would stay longer!!! I am so excited about all our upcoming events and new website design! Our Board has worked really hard and I can't thank them enough. We love what we do!

If you've been following us on Facebook and Instagram, you may have already met this sweet girl. Jazz came to Triple R with her longtime pasturemate, Ty, a few years ago. They were both in rough shape, and despite the best possible care, we lost Ty soon after rescuing them. But Jazz rebounded and found a new herd of horses at her current foster’s house-- where she is a particular favorite of the geldings!  Her advanced age and health issues—the vet says she’s very arthritic, and keeping weight on her can be difficult and costly-- means that she is almost certainly one of our Forever Horses. So Jazz is living out her golden years under the care of longtime Triple R fosters Cathy and Stephen Stauffer, who report that she is a sweet, yet reserved girl.

Fall Fundraiser

Our next big in-person event will take place on October 12 at Schuckers Half-Shell Oyster Bar in Tallahassee. Whether you have been to one of our Have-a-Heart events, or not, you should definitely consider coming to this one. Our board is hard at work hammering out the details, but one thing is certain: It promises to be fun for the whole family! Check out our event page for more information.

Miniature Horse Daisy with her foster family

Daisy has found her Forever Home!

Congratulations to the Hoyt Family on the newest member of their family! Daisy had been with Triple R for many years before the Hoyt family met and fell in love with her.

After fostering her for several months, they decided to make it official-- and welcome Daisy permanently into the Happy Hoyt Farm family.

We are thrilled for them and Daisy!

Little Buddy

Little Buddy is Ready for His Forever Home!

After a few crucial surgeries and several months working with foster Jonelle Womble and her riding students, Little Buddy is finally ready to go to his forever home!

Little Buddy is a gentle and rideable 20-year-old gelding. At 14.2 hands tall, he would make a great kids horse for light riding. With some work/training, he might even make a good trail horse, but he is missing one eye, so it may take a little extra work/time to get him comfortable with new/unfamiliar trails. We don't know how/when Little Buddy lost his eye, but it was either a recent injury when he came to Triple R or wasn't cared for properly. As a result, Triple R had to send him in for surgery and the best aftercare possible with his foster Jonelle Womble and her students at Fit & Sit Equine Services. Under their care and attention, he has healed up, and he's ready to find his forever family! We are unsure about his breed but believe him to be a Quarter Horse mix of some sort-- his foster thinks there might be some Morgan in there.
